Steve plays a Dusty Strings dulcimer and loves to help other people get playing on them, too.

Ray and Sue Mooers build beautiful, sweet-sounding, stable-tuning instruments at Dusty Strings in Seattle, Washington.  (Steve is pictured visiting the Music Store and the Building Shop).

The D500 Model is featured in the picture in color, with D300 in front and D600 behind. (The chromatic series was designed in conjunction with Sam Rizzetta.)

Sizes vary and the prices range from $625-$2,995.00 for the solid wood model instruments.  The laminated Basic models prices range from $425 to $530.

Dusty strings also makes a Piano Dulcimer (designed by Sam Rizzetta).

The padded Cordura case is highly recommended:  it fits the instruments well, is attractive and durable.

Options include:

Black soundboard, curly maple rails and binding, Abalone inlay around soundhole, Abalone inlay around soundboard, and dampers.

There are several stand options include: Tri-Stander System, Folding Stand-Up or Folding Sit-Down stands or lap-top or table-top playing legs.
